Scholarships
Sun River Electric Cooperative, along with Montana Electric Cooperatives' Association (MECA) and Basin Electric Power Cooperative offer several scholarships:
- Sun River Electric offers $1000 scholarships to each school in the SREC service area and home school students, continuing education scholarships for $1000 to students already in college, and an electric line worker scholarship for $1000 to those individuals interested in electric line work.
- MECA offers one $500 scholarship in SREC's geographic district.
- Basin Electric Power offers one $1000 scholarship.
Deadlines are as follows:
- Sun River Electric Scholarship - April 2, 2021
- SREC Continuing Education Scholarship - April 2, 2021
- SREC Electric Line Worker Scholarship - April 2, 2021
- Basin Electric Power Cooperative - January 25, 2021
- MECA - January 25, 2021

Sun River Electric Scholarships
Who is eligible?
Applicants for the Sun River Electric Scholarship must be a dependent of a Sun River Electric member and a graduating high school senior entering his or her freshman year in a college or trade school. Applicants for the SREC Continuing Education Scholarship must be currently enrolled in a college or trade school. Applicants for the SREC Line Worker Scholarship must be a graduating high school senior or a high school graduate or equivalent and must live in the SREC service area.

MECA Scholarship
Who is eligible?
Applicants for the MECA Scholarship must be a member of Sun River Electric Cooperative, or a son or daughter of a member, and either a graduating high school senior entering his or her freshman year at a college or trade school or a current college undergraduate student. Graduate students are ineligible.
